A fine and elegant Regency period mahogany cylinder desk dating to circa 1820, of excellent colour and rich figuring throughout. The beautifully shaped tambour front, inlaid with delicate ebony stringing and decorative motifs, encloses a well-fitted interior.
Opening to reveal a highly practical arrangement of small drawers, pigeonholes, and central compartments, the desk offers ample storage for writing essentials. The adjustable green leather writing surface provides both functionality and a pleasing contrast to the warm tones of the mahogany. The interior retains a charming, untouched character, enhancing its authenticity.
Below, two long drawers are adorned with attractive brass ring drop handles featuring classical portrait roundels, adding refinement and period detail. The desk stands on elegantly turned legs, giving it a light and graceful presence.
