A Good Late Victorian “Dickens” Desk, in well-figured walnut, the rectangular top fitted with a raised central lift-up writing slope enclosing a fitted interior with pigeonholes and compartments, flanked by inset green leather writing surfaces. The rear fitted with a turned spindle gallery.
The base arranged with a kneehole flanked by nine drawers (four to each pedestal and one central), with a further two drawers above, all fitted with original brass swan-neck handles. Raised on turned legs terminating in castors.
A practical and elegant desk offering excellent storage, generous working space and strong Victorian character.
