A George IV mahogany tilt-top occasional table, dating to circa 1825.
The circular top is formed from well-figured mahogany with a moulded edge and retains a rich, warm colour and attractive aged patination.
The top tilts vertically by means of the original-style brass catch beneath, allowing the table to be conveniently stored when not in use.
Raised on an elegant turned central column with spiral-fluted carved detail, above a shaped tripod base. The three swept legs are decorated with restrained carved detail and terminate in rounded feet.
A handsome and useful early 19th century occasional table, of particularly pleasing proportions and displaying a lovely mellow colour to the mahogany.
English, circa 1825.
