Description
A rare Dutch walnut marquetry occasional table dating to the late 18th century. This stunning table is decorated with ormolu mounts and has floral design marquetry on all sides – including the back.
But what really sets this table apart is the marquetry top with its rural landscape. The detail is superb and you notice something different every time you look at it from the birds flying across the sky to the birds on the pond. The buildings have mother of pearl windows which give them an illuminated effect.
The single oak lined drawer has a working lock and key.
A rare and beautiful piece of furniture of superb quality.
