A fine and elegant George III occasional table of slender proportions, veneered in richly figured satinwood, the rectangular top finely outlined with delicate boxwood stringing. The frieze fitted with a single drawer and working lock.
Raised on square tapering legs, also veneered in satinwood, united by a shaped crossed stretcher for added strength and refinement. The table displays excellent colour throughout, with particularly attractive figuring to the top and drawer front.
The restrained design and refined detailing are characteristic of late 18th-century English furniture, reflecting the neoclassical taste of the period. A versatile piece, suitable for use as a lamp table, side table or small writing table.
