A superb quality Victorian writing table dating to around 1880, offered in superb condition. The rectangular top has been professionally relined with a new leather writing surface, skilfully hand-dyed to a warm tan colour with a traditional tooled border, giving a rich and elegant finish.
With stunning amboyna cross banded top and drawer fronts, providing a striking contrast of grain and colour. There are three drawers along the front, all functioning well with the central drawer bearing a crisp stamp inside: Bulstrode Cambridge, a noted maker of the period.
The right hand drawer is fitted with divided sections inside for organisation.
This impressive writing table stands on well-proportioned, turned mahogany legs terminating in casters, making it easy to position or move.
