Description

A William IV mahogany writing table dating to circa 1835, of elegant and practical form with pleasing restrained proportions.

The rectangular top is inset with a green leather writing surface, bordered with gilt tooling, and surrounded by a well-figured mahogany frame with rounded corners and moulded edge.

The frieze is fitted with two generously proportioned drawers to the front, retaining attractive brass circular handles offering useful storage while maintaining the table’s clean architectural lines.

Raised on well-turned mahogany legs to the front, with corresponding rear supports and original brass cup castors, the table has excellent stance and would work beautifully as a desk, library writing table, or console in a traditional or contemporary interior.
