This impressive Victorian open bookcase, crafted circa 1870, is made from richly toned mahogany that has developed a beautiful patina with age. The bookcase features a classic inverted breakfront design with open shelves.
The structure is divided into three sections, each fitted with adjustable shelves, allowing for flexible storage and display of books.
The bookcase rests on a sturdy plinth base, and the top is finished with a simple yet refined moulded cornice, characteristic of the period’s understated sophistication. The back panels are constructed from solid timber, highlighting the craftsmanship and quality materials used throughout.
Condition is very good, with minor surface marks and wear commensurate with age, which only adds to its antique charm.
