This charming Victorian coromandel decanter box is designed to store and display fine spirits in elegant style. Dating to 1840s, the box is crafted from the rare coromandel wood — prized for its striking dark grain and natural beauty — and enhanced with brass mounts and hardware, lending both strength and a refined decorative touch.
The exterior of the box features beautifully polished coromandel panels, framed with brass edging to protect the corners and highlight the sleek silhouette. A recessed brass carrying handle is fitted to each side, allowing for easy transport, and a circular brass plaque on top (no engraving). The box is fitted with a Brahma lock but there is no key unfortunately.
Opening the hinged lid reveals a sumptuous interior lined in deep, royal blue velvet, providing a luxurious backdrop for the four cut glass decanters nestled within. Each decanter is finely crafted with a classic square form, adorned with elegant faceting and crowned with a matching square stopper.
The decanters are housed in individual compartments, ensuring they remain secure and protected when the box is closed or carried. Whether used for whisky, brandy, port, or liqueurs, this set offers both storage and display in a single, handsome piece.
