The bold square-section frames are designed with pronounced scroll-carved top rails and elegant, shaped open arms. The chairs stand on square tapered legs, united by simple rails, retaining their original striped upholstered drop-in seats.
This pair blends Eastern craftsmanship with Western design influence, resulting in a highly decorative and unusual form that reflects the export furniture trade of the period. The use of satinwood, combined with delicate inlay, adds warmth and refinement.
