A superb quality set of eight late Victorian Chippendale-style dining chairs, crafted in richly figured mahogany and dating to circa 1890. This elegant suite comprises two carver armchairs and six single chairs, all displaying classic Chippendale influences with finely shaped backs, pierced splats, and beautifully moulded top rails.
The chairs stand on well-proportioned cabriole legs terminating in carved ball and claw feet, showcasing excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout. The arms on the carvers are gracefully swept with carved terminals, adding both comfort and refinement.
The seats retain their original tapestry upholstery, decorated with a charming floral design and warm, mellow tones that complement the rich patina of the mahogany frames. The upholstery is in good antique condition, with gentle wear consistent with age, contributing to the overall authenticity and character of the set.
