A good Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton Porcelain Figurine, “Mendicant” ~ HN 1365, decorated in a brown and red colourway. Designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, and produced from 1929 to 1969, this early example was potted in 1936 and was painted by Ellen B. Smith. The underside fully marked with the Royal Doulton backstamp of the period, “Mendicant”, H.N. 1365., the monogram S for the Paintress, Ellen B. Smith, and the numeral 9 for 1936.
