Description
An interesting Pair of Late 19th Century Antique Welsh Victorian Pine Alms Boxes / Dishes of good colour and simple open box form, the carrying handles undecorated and shaped for comfort. These dishes come from the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales and would have been in regular use in chapel for many decades until the recent widespread abandonment of religious observance which has, sadly, led to the demise of this hitherto important aspect of traditional Welsh culture.
