A smart 1960s mahogany and tan leather wingback armchair, made in the traditional Georgian taste.
The tall winged back is deeply buttoned and upholstered in warm tan leather, with generously shaped wings and broad arms finished with brass stud detailing. The chair has a loose leather seat cushion and is raised on mahogany cabriole front legs with pad feet, united by shaped stretchers.
The leather has developed a particularly attractive rich, mellow patina, with natural creasing, scuffing and age-related wear giving the chair a wonderfully lived-in country-house appearance.
A substantial and characterful armchair combining the comfort of a mid-century piece with the traditional proportions and detailing of an earlier Georgian design.
