Constance Evelyn Padwick was born in Sussex in 1886 and died in 1968.

Padwick went to Palestine in 1910 and fell in love with the Middle East: she spent around 40 years in the Middle East, learning Arabic and becoming very familiar with mosques and various groups, traditions, etc. 

Padwick visited/lived in Palestine, Egypt, Turkey, Sudan, Morocco, Pakistan and Kenya.

She spent 20 years collecting, researching and writing this amazing book on Muslim prayers/supplications known as ‘dua’.

In this book Padwick studies the contents of 109 different books of dua.

Due to her knowledge of Arabic, she was able to translate the books herself.

This book has 340 amazing pages packed with detailed information and commentary on dua books from the earliest Islamic period of history.

There is a useful index at the back of the book.

The book is in wonderful condition with the contents being in very good, clean and complete condition. The covers are also in wonderful condition – please note that there are some tears, wear and creases on the dust jacket.

This book measures 23cm x 16cm.
