An impressive late Victorian / early Edwardian giltwood overmantel mirror, circa 1900, retaining its original gilding and single bevelled plate glass. The shaped frieze is richly carved with scrolling foliage, shells, and floral motifs, while the cornice is decorated with bold gilt balls and beaded detail.
Flanked by cluster columns with acanthus capitals, the mirror has a strong architectural presence, making it an ideal statement piece above a fireplace or sideboard. The warm patina of the gilding enhances its decorative appeal and adds grandeur to both traditional and modern interiors.
