A fine late 18th century Georgian mahogany carver or desk chair, dating to circa 1780. Generously proportioned, this antique chair features a beautifully carved backrest with pierced splat and sweeping scroll arms. The rich, hand-polished mahogany frame exhibits excellent patina and craftsmanship typical of the Georgian period.
The seat is upholstered in high-quality, hand-dyed green leather with a deep, lustrous tone and traditional brass studwork – a striking contrast to the warm timber. Both elegant and functional, this antique armchair is ideal for use as a period desk chair or as a statement piece in a study or formal living space.
