A large Edwardian walnut astragal glazed four-door bookcase, dating from circa 1900 and bearing the original retailer’s label for S. & H. Jewell, 131–2 High Holborn, London.
The bookcase features four glazed doors with elegant astragal glazing bars, opening to reveal a spacious interior fitted with adjustable shelves, ideal for the display of books, china, or decorative objects. The well-figured walnut exterior is complemented by a carved lattice frieze to the top and stands on a plinth base.
An impressive and highly practical antique bookcase, suitable for a library, dining room, or traditional interior, offering excellent storage and display potential.
