Description
James Stuart Park 1862-1933 Still life of Roses, oil on canvas. Glasgow flower painter specialising in painting carefully arranged bouquets especially of roses, lilies and orchids. He developed a very individual technique using rapid strokes against a dark background suggestin rather than defining the texture and contour of flowers. Some craquelure to black background, signed bottoom left.
