A fine and elegant Georgian mahogany twin-flap bridge table, English, circa 1820.
The rectangular top is fitted with two hinged flaps, allowing the table to be used both closed as a narrow console table or fully opened for card playing or occasional use. The table is fitted with a single drawer to one side.
Raised on square, tapering legs of good proportion, the table displays attractive colour and patination throughout, with well-matched mahogany timbers and a pleasing surface. The simplicity of the design and slender proportions are typical of the late Georgian period.
A versatile and practical piece, ideal for use as a bridge table, card table, hall table or side table.
