Description
Georgian 18th 19th-century French empire seven pc suite
Andrew Christie Fine Traditional Chairmakers & Restorers.
Our present restoration. An extremely fine late 18thcent/19thcent Georgian period French Empire club/salon/parlour suite, ebonized with brass and mother of pearl inlays and stringing, brass finials and leg rings, Acanthus carved arm fronts and rear.
This suite has been sympathetically restored using as little new anything as possible, keeping its original patination and authenticity. Now restored and back in prime condition ready to serve its new home for the next 100 years without issue. Suites like this, of almost certain aristocratic origin, in prime condition, would retail in a top location for in excess of £100,000.00. We have restored this to NOT look new but to look correct and in keeping with the period. We are sure, apart from new upholstery, there is no way to know we have been anywhere near this suite or done anything to its frames at all. Hense the before and after images that reveal the extent of our input to bring this fabulous suite back to life.
Comprising of Three seater sofa, Two open armchairs, Four club armchairs. Seven pieces in all.
Enquiries welcome. progress reports. We are open to reasonable offer.
Images before, middle and after restoration.
This is the before and the middle, just to upholster frames now, with coconut and horse hair stuffing.
