A high-quality Victorian satinwood three-tier étagère by the renowned London cabinet makers Edward & Roberts, of elegant serpentine outline throughout. The shaped top above two further shaped shelves, all supported on gently curved uprights, the base section fitted with a single bowed drawer retaining its original turned satinwood knobs.
Raised on splayed feet terminating in original ceramic castors. The piece displays excellent colour and figuring to the satinwood, with finely executed joinery and pleasing proportions characteristic of Edward & Roberts’ output in the mid-Victorian period. The drawer shows traditional dovetail construction and runs smoothly.
A rare and decorative example, ideal for use as a display stand, whatnot or occasional étagère.
