A superb Regency rosewood and brass inlaid card table, Circa 1820.
This card table displays rich, highly figured rosewood and is accented with refined brass inlay.
The rectangular swiveling and folding top features rounded corners and is adorned with elegant brass stringing and star motifs, creating a sophisticated visual border. When opened, the table reveals a green baize playing surface, ideal for cards and a storage space under the table top.
Supported by a sturdy central column, the base flows into a well-balanced quatrefoil platform terminating in four splayed legs. Each leg is further embellished with brass star inlays and ends in brass casters set into refined paw feet.
The table’s apron is decorated with a central brass inlay motif, showcasing the Regency era’s fascination with classical influence.
