A superb quality George III style mercury barometer, beautifully crafted in rich mahogany with decorative inlay and a classic broken pediment cornice. The silvered dial is clearly signed L. Carletti, and the thermometer scale is intact. The original mercury tube is full and operational, making this both a functional and decorative piece. A wonderful example of early 19th-century scientific craftsmanship.
