A fine quality Edwardian ladies writing desk in richly figured rosewood, dating to circa 1900.
The shaped superstructure is fitted with two small inset mirrors flanked by four drawers, all finely inlaid with delicate boxwood lines. The central cresting is decorated with a classical urn motif, adding an elegant decorative touch.
The writing surface with inset leather , framed by a crossbanded border, above two frieze drawers fitted with original brass handles.
The whole stands on square tapering legs terminating in original castors, giving the piece a light and refined appearance typical of the Edwardian period.
