A handsome early Victorian mahogany chiffonier, circa 1840, of attractive proportions and displaying beautifully figured flame mahogany veneers.
The rectangular top has a moulded edge above two frieze drawers, flanked by carved scrolling corbels. Below are two cupboard doors, each featuring a striking flame mahogany panel within a rounded, moulded frame, fitted with turned wooden knobs and a working key.
The doors open to reveal a spacious interior with a single full-width shelf, providing useful storage.
The chiffonier stands on a plain plinth base and retains a warm, rich colour, with attractive figuring throughout and a pleasing patina consistent with its age.
A versatile piece of early Victorian furniture, equally suitable for use in a dining room, sitting room or hallway, offering both decorative appeal and practical storage.
