Description
A very attractive late 19th-century kidney-shaped wooden serving tray, beautifully decorated with delicate hand-painted floral garlands and scrolling ribbon motifs.
The shaped tray has a warm honey-coloured finish, with finely painted flowers and foliage in soft shades of green, yellow and red, enclosed within a fine dark border.
The tray features an elegant raised, shaped gallery with a gently scalloped outline and decorative brass carrying handles to either end.
Retaining a lovely mellow colour and character, with signs of age and use consistent with its period.
A charming and highly decorative piece, equally suited to use as a serving tray or for displaying decorative objects on a coffee table, sideboard or ottoman.
