A decorative Chinese porcelain fish bowl or jardinière of circular form, dating to the late 20th century, circa 1970.
The body is attractively decorated with stylised floral roundels and scrolling foliage in soft famille verte tones of green, iron-red and pale enamels, beneath a repeating geometric and heart-shaped border. The gentle colour palette and traditional motif draw on earlier Chinese decorative styles while retaining a distinctly mid-20th century character.
The bowl is raised on a carved hardwood stand of traditional form, with shaped supports and a circular stretcher, providing both stability and an elegant presentation.
Originally intended as a fish bowl or planter, it now serves beautifully as a decorative interior piece, ideal for displaying plants or as a statement accent.
Condition:
In good overall decorative condition. There is a hairline crack to the base, which does not detract from its display and is not visible when the piece is in position on the stand.
