This striking 1920s dressing table is a superb example of Chinoiserie decorated furniture, capturing the opulence and artistic flair of the early 20th century. Finished in deep black lacquer and exquisitely hand-painted in gold tones, this piece is richly adorned with delicate Oriental landscapes, birds, pagodas, and figures—each panel a unique and detailed work of art.
The design features a trifold mirror with a tall, arched central panel flanked by two shaped side mirrors, allowing for adjustable viewing angles. The mirrors are framed with intricately painted borders and have bevelled edges.
The base consists of two pedestal chests, each offering three drawers with brass drop handles. The drawer fronts and sides continue the hand-painted decoration, ensuring visual impact from every angle. The chests are raised on shaped gilt feet.
In good condition with some age-related patina to the lacquer.
The mirror is taken off for transport, the base is one piece.
