Beautiful Omani Dhow Sterling Silver Moving Parts c1970 Muscat Arabian
This is a rare and delightful old silver model of a sailing ship in full sail complete with moving parts! The chain and anchor move as does the tiller/rudder.
There is a lot of wonderful detail on this piece and one side of the sail has niello on it.
It is nicely mounted onto a small piece of wood and looks great!
It is marked “Sterling 925” which is typical of Omani silver in the late 20th century.
It weighs 31.1g (one troy ounce) and measures 11cm high (with the stand) or 9cm without the stand and is 8cm long.
