Beautiful and RARE Qajar Sufi cap with amazing Calligraphy 100+years old

This is an amazing and rare piece of Islamic history: a wonderfully made hat for a Sufi mystic that is covered with beautiful calligraphy.

The main difference between Ottoman/Turkish sufi hats and those from Qajar Persia is that the Ottoman hats are plain and the Persian ones often have amazing calligraphy like this one.

We have found one very similar that sold at auction for £3,750 in London 2014 (see image above).

We have also located two examples in museums that are also shown in the images above.

One is in the world famous Aga Khan Museum and the other is in the San Franciso Museum of Art.

What makes ours even more desirable is the wonderful is the band of calligraphy that runs around the bottom edge of this amazing work of art.

It will have belonged to a Sufi and may have been passed down from father to son.

This truly is a remarkable piece of Islamic history and highly desirable.

This wonderful piece of history stands 22cm in height and has an internal diameter of around 19cm.

It is in excellent condition as can be seen in the images.

There is some very minor wear but pleas remember that it was worn every day and it is over 100 years old.
