Description
A small Arts & Crafts Stones Patent writing desk c1900 made of solid oak, which features an original leather covered writing slope which slides forward when unlocked to reveal the tray interior with ink bottles. A single drawer below which contains the plate marked ‘Stones Patent’ original brass handles and stands on downward tapering legs. When the key is turned to unlock the drawer, a mechanism engages both the writing slope and drawer which enables the writing slope to slide forward for use. To lock, the writing slope is slid back into position and the key turned to the lock position on the drawer.
In good original condition, no repairs with the tray interior complete with ink bottles and pen tray.
