Description

This beautiful floral antique Victorian sterling silver bangle bracelet with safety chain is a gorgeous piece of Victorian history manufactured by the Sydenham Brothers (George and Robert) in 1884 in Birmingham, England.

When George died in 1910, he left an estate worth the then vast sum of £14,729, an indication of the firm’s importance and prosperity. For further information on the Sydenham Brothers, please visit the V&A Museum archives: http://m.vam.ac.uk/collections/item/O78091/brooch-sydenham-brothers/

The embossed flowers and individual leaves in the central panel really make this bangle stand out. Either side of the centrepiece, embossed framing adds a real sense of the ornate. A truly spectacular bangle that’s as attractive today as it was in the 19th Century. The bangle is in good shape for a piece of jewellery over 130 years old. There are a few dings and surface scratches but nothing especially noteworthy. Really it’s in lovely condition.

We love Victorian sterling silver bangles and this is a cracker. Own a piece of history.

The bangle is 6.5cm across and 5.5cm deep.

ABOUT OUR JEWELLERY

This piece has been specifically selected by us, for you. We choose vintage and antique items which we think are beautiful, elegant and classic at a range of price points between £30 and £3,000. Generally, this means we only ever have one of each piece. We don’t select pieces which are “mass market” but rather items which are more individual. This means that once an item has been purchased, it really has gone. Each piece comes in an attractive jewellery presentation box.
