Stunning antique Italian “Fratelli Coppini” 800 silver framed opera purse. Coppini in Florence has produced high quality silver goods since 1740, usually depicting swans & winged cherubs. And the wide silver frame on this purse is no exception, a pair of swans hold the carrying chain, the centre cartouche(back & front) shows a pair of winged cherubs in a garden & either side there are pairs of doves in flight.
The petite point sac has been handstitched to the silver frame & then the inside lined with a black silky fabric. This item was found wrapped in tissue in an armoire in the loire Valley & is an almost unused condition(see photos).
