Description
A really lovely Late 19th Century Antique English Victorian Green Vaseline Glass Epergne. The well balanced ensemble comprising a delicately shaded scalloped tray from which rises a large central flute plus three beaded “Shepherd’s Crook” canes, one of which appears to have an old replacement shoe, and from each of which is suspended an attractively shaped basket, the overall design betraying marked Art Nouveau influence. Epergnes can be used to great effect as table decorations, filled with fresh flowers in the Victorian manner, the tray laden with bon-bons or soft fruits, these lovely old pieces are certain to enhance the dining table of the most fastidious hostess.
