Description
A good Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Blue and White Transfer Indented Pottery Plate, printed in “The Trio” pattern from the rarely encountered Stafford Gallery series of scenes copied from Old Master paintings, produced by Charles Meigh of Old Hall Works, Hanley, Staffordshire, { 1835 – 49 }. The bucolic scene depicts a fisherman with his rod conversing with two women, with a lake and buildings in the background. The reverse with series title STAFFORD GALLERY OPAQUE CHINA within a crowned floral cartouche formed from a pair of cornucopia and printed in underglaze blue.
