An attractive early 19th century Chinese hardwood side table, dating to circa 1820. The table features a rectangular top with a warm patina, over two drawers with brass ring handles, set above a shaped apron and open well. The drawers are constructed with traditional pegged joints, reflecting its authentic period craftsmanship.
Standing on square section legs with gently upturned feet, the table is further enhanced by pierced scroll brackets to the corners, adding an elegant decorative detail. Its compact proportions make it versatile for use as a side table, writing desk, or hall table.
With its rich colour, original finish, and restrained design, this piece is a fine example of Chinese furniture from the Qing dynasty period, combining both decorative and practical appeal.
