A large pair of mahogany bedside cupboards of elegant, understated design, each raised on finely turned and fluted legs terminating in neat bun feet. The proportions are particularly pleasing, with the slender reeded supports lending a lightness that contrasts beautifully with the solid cabinet form above.
Each cupboard is fitted with a single panelled door, the front decorated with a moulded geometric fielded panel that reflects classical influence. The doors open to reveal a spacious interior cupboard, ideal for bedside storage, and retain their original brass ring handles, adding a subtle period charm. The rich mahogany has matured to a warm, glowing tone, with attractive figuring across the tops and door panels. circa 1930
