Description
An attractive near pair of Georgian mahogany bedside tables, dating to circa 1820, of elegant proportions and lovely warm colour.
Each table features a rectangular top above a shaped and scalloped frieze, with an open compartment and a single drawer below, fitted with a small brass ring handle.
Raised on slender square legs, united by beautifully shaped cross stretchers incorporating a circular recess to the centre.
The mahogany has developed a rich, mellow patina, with subtle differences in detail adding to the charm and character of this near pair.
A particularly decorative and practical pair of early 19th-century tables, ideal for use as bedside tables or as occasional lamp tables in a sitting room.
