A very attractive 19th century gilt framed mirror, retaining its original glass and rich period character. The frame is of elegant classical inspiration, featuring fluted column supports to either side, surmounted by a moulded cornice with decorative roundel detailing.
The frieze is centred with a finely cast fruit bowl motif, flanked by carved paterae, giving the piece a refined neoclassical feel. The original gilding has mellowed beautifully over time, displaying a warm tone and gentle wear consistent with age, adding depth and authenticity.
The mirror plate itself shows the subtle imperfections and charm associated with original antique glass, enhancing its decorative appeal and making it particularly desirable for period interiors.
