19th century Cornish copper Folk Art steam train, locomotive weathervane The model steam train at the top of this Weathervane is hand made in Cornish copper, the Locomotive is quite detailed in its construction, it has a plume of smoke coming from its chimney, six wheels and buffers front and back The train sits above bronze N,S, E and W wind arrows which in its turn is over a copper ball, all this is original and on an iron rod. The iron rod is mounted in a heavy attractive cast-iron base also a 19th century piece allowing it to be displayed either indoors or out The train is sound, there is a bit of damage, one wheel is slightly buckled, one of the bands holding the boiler is missing, one has come loose and one is broken and it has a natural verdigris patina Measure: The Overall height of the Weathervane is slightly adjustable at 59” and to is 18” in diameter The train is 16” high, 17” long and 6” wide HP183. Manufacture Date : 1880 Materials : Copper
