Description
A fine 19th-century brass-bound campaign secretaire chest of drawers, presented in excellent antique condition complete with working key. Constructed in richly figured mahogany, the chest is strengthened throughout with brass corner mounts and bindings. The warm timber displays attractive grain and a rich, mellow patina acquired over many years.
The upper section is fitted with three drawers, the central drawer concealing a fall-front secretaire. Opening to reveal a beautifully appointed fitted interior, it incorporates small drawers, compartments, and a leather-lined writing surface, providing a practical workspace.
Below are three full-width graduated drawers offering ample storage, all fitted with recessed brass military handles. The chest stands on turned feet, completing its elegant yet robust appearance.
