Description
An attractive collection of early 20th-century brass fire irons and fire dogs, comprising a decorative pair of brass fire dogs together with a coordinating set of fire irons.
The fire dogs feature elegant reeded urn-shaped finials, decorative spindle galleries and shaped supports raised on scrolling feet.
The accompanying fire irons comprise a pierced brass shovel with decorative foliate detail, a poker and a pair of fire tongs, all with matching reeded urn-shaped handles. Also included is an additional pair of brass ember tongs of a different design.
The brass has a lovely warm golden patina, with signs of age and use consistent with their purpose.
