A Regency mahogany bow front chest of drawers, circa 1820, with particularly attractive figured mahogany drawer fronts and a lovely warm colour.
The gently bowed top sits above two short over three long graduated drawers, all edged with fine cockbeading and retaining oval brass plate handles. The beautifully figured mahogany has been carefully selected across the drawer fronts, giving the chest a particularly decorative appearance.
Each drawer is traditionally constructed with dovetail joints and fitted with a brass escutcheon. The chest is raised on shaped bracket feet, which complement its elegant Regency proportions.
A very attractive and useful period chest, combining generous storage with a relatively restrained footprint. The rich figuring and bow-fronted form make this a particularly appealing example.
