A striking retro open bookcase dating to circa 1970, of bold architectural design and constructed in ebonised wood with contrasting Macassar wood detailing.
The bookcase features a strongly moulded projecting cornice above an open front, flanked by substantial architectural uprights. The sides are particularly unusual, with open recessed sections giving the piece an attractive sense of depth and structure.
Fitted with six generously sized open shelves, it provides excellent storage and display space for books, decorative objects or collections. The rich dark finish is relieved by the warmer tones of the Macassar wood, giving the bookcase a smart and sophisticated appearance.
