A very decorative Regency style painted tray table, the removable rectangular tray raised on a coordinating painted stand.
The tray has canted corners and raised sides with brass carrying handles, decorated in tones of green, black and gilt. The centre is hand painted with a charming Chinoiserie-inspired scene depicting birds amongst flowering branches, surrounded by stylised gilt foliage and decorative borders.
The tray rests upon a slender faux bamboo stand, painted in alternating black and gilt sections and united by an elegant cross stretcher.
An attractive and highly decorative piece, combining Regency-inspired form with Chinoiserie decoration. The removable tray makes it both practical and versatile, while the unusual colouring gives it considerable decorative appeal.
Ideal as a drinks table, occasional table or decorative side table.
