A fine late 18th century George III solid mahogany tripod occasional table dating to around 1780, standing on an elegant turned pedestal with a well-proportioned tripod base terminating in classic pad feet.
The beautifully figured one-piece mahogany top displays a rich depth of colour and an attractive mellow patina acquired over more than two centuries. Its simple design and refined proportions make it an extremely versatile piece, equally suited as a lamp table, wine table, or occasional table within both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Raised on a finely turned column with a shaped tripod base, the table has a pleasing lightness while remaining stable and practical. The quality of the timber and restrained craftsmanship are characteristic of the Georgian period.
Presented in good antique condition with the expected surface wear, minor marks and age-related imperfections consistent with over 240 years of careful use, all adding to its genuine period character.
