A superb quality William IV rosewood circular breakfast table dating from circa 1830. The beautifully figured rosewood top displays exceptional colour and dramatic grain patterns, enhanced by a finely carved gadrooned edge.
The table stands upon a substantial turned pedestal richly carved with acanthus decoration, terminating in a triform platform base with boldly carved lion’s paw feet and scrolling details. The craftsmanship throughout is of a particularly high standard, with elegant proportions and impressive quality carving typical of the finest William IV furniture.
The top retains its original tilt-top mechanism, allowing it to be stored upright when not in use, making it both practical and highly decorative. A striking centrepiece for a dining room, library or reception room.
Presented in good antique condition with a rich colour and patina commensurate with age and use.
