A pair of Victorian mahogany bedside chests dating from circa 1890, of attractive proportions and retaining their original brass drop handles.
Each chest is fitted with three graduated drawers featuring raised and fielded drawer fronts, flanked by reeded corner pilasters and standing on substantial plinth bases. The rich mahogany timber displays excellent colour and figuring throughout, with a warm patina developed over many years of use.
The drawers run smoothly and provide useful bedside or occasional storage, whilst the clean architectural lines make these chests suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Presented in good antique condition with minor marks, knocks and wear commensurate with age and use, adding to their authenticity and character.
A particularly good matching pair of Victorian bedside chests, increasingly difficult to find in matching pairs and ideal for use beside a bed, sofa or as lamp tables.
