An authentic early 20th century Gurkha kukri, dating to around 1900, retaining its original curved steel blade and wooden grip with flared pommel. The kukri is housed in its original leather-covered scabbard, which bears a mounted regimental badge, adding military interest and historical appeal.
The blade displays the characteristic forward-curving form associated with the famous Nepalese and Gurkha fighting and utility knives, together with the traditional notch at the base of the blade. The wooden handle has acquired an attractive patina through age and use, while the scabbard shows expected wear consistent with service and long-term storage.
A desirable example of a classic military kukri, combining practical craftsmanship with regimental provenance, making it an attractive addition to any collection of edged weapons, Gurkha memorabilia, or British military antiques.
Condition:
Age-related wear throughout, including surface marks and oxidation to the blade, with wear and losses to the leather scabbard. Regimental badge attached to the scabbard as found.
Circa: 1900
Blade length 35cm
Overall 54cm
